I like these plates because they are stainable/paintable and they have a flat front, which makes it easy to plug in adapter cords for electronics. This is a difficult feature to find in bare wood covers. There was one plate in my bunch that did not seem to accept the stain as well as the others, but I haven’t gone back to put a second coat on it either.
