Data Jack Wiring

Step 1 - Strip the Wires

Strip about 2 inches of outer sheath from the cable. Be careful not to nick the internal paired wires as this will cause the wire to break or short out the connection causing problems down the road.

In preparation to place the wires in their correct position, fan the wires out so you can easily identify each individual wire. Be sure to inspect all wires for damage before proceeding to step 2.

Step 2 - Place and Secure the Wires

Lay the wires over the top of the jack following the wiring diagram.

Step 3 - Secure the Wires

Punch the wires down into the “V groove” blades built into the jack. Make sure the wires are firmly seated down into each compartment. Snap down the dust covers to set the wires.
